Cascade Paranormal Research went with Jayme and I to Wellington to run some tests. These are the results:
1. We set up a game of ghost poker in the parking lot with a open chair for a ghostly guest from 10:00pm to 11:20pm. Around 11:15 we started to hear 2 male voices 20-30’ away from the table. At 11:35pm 2 shadow figures were seen moving through the parking lot. One was by the trail head and the other one was near the west end of the parking lot.
2. At 11:40pm we moved into the snow shed. We traveled ¾ of the way down past the outlook. With the lights out ,recorders set and cameras in place we started slowly talking about O’Neil and the why they places the train on a steep slope. Almost right away we started to getting activity. Just like the night before something threw a small rock, shadows seemed to be running around the pillars 10-20’ on all sides of us. What we gathered is when we talk about O’Neil the atmosphere changes rapidly to a more angered presence. As we stepped up the provoking the movement inside the snow shed also increased.
3. All of us had seen the same shadow movement at the same time. When we started seeing shadows moving we noted the current conditions inside the snow shed. Wind, moonlight and so on to make sure that it wasn’t what was causing the shadows. During this time something dark stepped in front of my face blocking all the light. Jayme was standing next to me so I asked her if she put her hand in front of my face. The answer was no. The activity slowly diminished around 12:50pm. We returned to the parking lot.
4. At 1:15 we started the strobe light test in the parking lot. At 1:30 we shut it off because it was making all of us ill.
My conclusion is this: O’Neil is still a hot topic inside and outside of Wellington. The activity and atmosphere will change as you talk about the issues leading up to and after the avalanche. There is 1 black figure commonly seen moving quickly around the pillars at a high rate of speed. Strobe lights make you sick if you look at them too long.

The Seattle Underground
The Underground of Seattle is best known for it's great day time tours and friendly staff . When the tours are over and the sun goes down the underground turns into a pool of paranormal activity. NWPIA has investigated the Underground of Seattle 4 times in 2008 and was never disapointed. From hair pulling to ghostly figures standing in the hallways the Underground is a must to investigate.
Historic Wellington
Wellington was an old Rail Road town that sprung up in the late 1800's. In 1910 an avalanche swept 2 train down the hill side killing over 96 people. Titled " The worst train disaster in the United States" the town was doomed and never recovered. By 1936 the town was all but gone leaving very little behind.
NWPIA started investigating Wellington in 2004 and every year after that. The town may be gone but the ghost from the the past haven't. Strange sounds, a child voice calling out for it's mother, dark shadow figures moving around, and ghostly figures peeking around the snowshed pillars are just a few of the paranormal activity.
Robert Lang Recording Studios
Standing in a room that has 4 million dollars worth of equipment is exciting enough, but add in a grumpy ghost, a small ghost child, and a ghost called Dubby, that's priceless. NWPIA has had the pleasure of investigating the recording studio several times in 2008 and has had great sucsess in our investigations. Shadows, voices and ghostly images are just a few of the paranormal things that are going bump in the night. By far the best part of the studio,.... is getting to know Robert and Paul.

Historic Wellington
The Wellington story.
On March 1, 1910 there were two Great Northern Railway trains stalled by heavy snow in the North Cascasdes of Washington . One train was a local passenger train, the other was a fast mail from the east. They had arrived a few days before at Wellington, just on the west side of the pass. All the efforts of the railway to get them safely across the pass and off the mountain had failed. The snow plows were out of coal, the food was low, the snow was falling at one foot each hour, and a tremendous lightning storm had been raging for hours.
In the middle of the night a snow slide struck both trains. The force of the sliding snow pushed both trains into the Tye river valley, one hundred fifty feet below. Mixed in the avalanche were large trees and boulders which added to the power of the fast moving snow to destroy the train cars.
Ninety six people were killed in the avalanche. Most of them that died worked for the rail road.
Wellington is our favorite investigation spots during the summer. There has been a great deal of strange activity in this area for the past 5 years and every time we go there is something new to witness. It was around Aug 2004 when we started seeing mouse sized lights moving 2 inches off the the ground seconds apart from each other. In July 2007 we heard a woman singing where the hotel used to stand. Then in 2008 we captured more EVP's, the video of a child peaking around a pillar and shadows of people moving inside the snow shed.

We have been at Wellington three times without any major results. We did run into 2 bears, one Black Bear and one Brown Bear during the day.

June/July 2009.
We had a couple of strange encounters last night at Wellington that I thought I would share with you. We originally went up there to do some training with Vaughn but as we entered the snow shed things got a little interesting. The time was 11:00pm with the moon at 95% full.
At first it was just the usual stuff…voices, echo’s, ect. Kenny and myself moved farther up the snow shed with the SR11 as Jayme and ******* hung back by 50’ having a seat on the ground.
Kenny and I were filming towards the mangled end of the shed when Jayme and ******** called us back. When we met back up with them you could obviously see in their faces that something happened and it wasn’t a good encounter.
Shortly after Kenny and I walked ahead of them they began to see a shadow moving behind the pillars at a rapid speed, moving from the pillars to the snow shed wall. As it gained speed it rushed towards Jayme making her quickly stand up
To hit it head on. Within a fraction of a second it was standing feet from her face, Jayme quickly turned on her flashlight but it nothing was there.
The black figure was floating 2’ off the ground without legs and moved at a high speed. The rest of the night was filled with loud voices and whispers in both the parking lot and snow shed.
Here’s what we know about the black shadow figure.
2008 the black shadow was seen on 3 occasions.
1. When we heard a loud whooping noise from a animal Matt and I walked into the snow shed from the lookout to find where the noise was coming from, we ran into the same black shadow figure moving at a neck breaking speed.
2. Just before Kenny had seen the shadow person. Both of us witnessed a shadow figure moving from pole to pole at a quickened speed
3. While Jayme and I were filming in November. Something kept moving behind her as she was filming.

We captured 2 good EVPs on the outlook during our investigations * See EVP section below *. We had a couple of investigators touched buy something running by them, it almost felt like a child brushing his/her hand against your leg as it ran by. When working with Karen from Paranormal Underground we all had seen a long shadow pass through the snow shed wall and a couple of shadow figures moving 25 yards ahead of us. One of our investigators was pushed in the back and had her arm grabber in the snow shed. At one point during one of the investigations fresh batteries seemed to have drained in a voice recorder nearly the same time as the IPod when testing a music theory. Within 1 min of the batteries being drained one of the investigators had seen two shadow figures leaning against the snow shed wall 30 feet in front of her. Two minutes after seeing the shadows Jayme had something whisper in her ear " What are you doing?" The first weeks of Aug was just as active. When walking thru the snow shed I had heard my name being called but no one was there. With all the lights out something walked up behind us but vanished when the flashlights were turned on.
Sept/Oct 2009
We had a couple of invesigations that didn't come up with any evidence. Although we had some personal experiences, Jayme had a run in with the ghost named " no face ". Later in October Bill and I heard a childs voice in the snowshed and a friend of ours heard knocking on the outlook railing. There were shadows seen moving around the parking lot late at night in Sept. Karen had a run in with dark shadow figure in the snowshed on October 24th.
November 2009, the end of the good weather at Wellington.
As fall turns into winter at Wellington we took a look back at the 2009 investigations. If we're lucky, maybe this year we'll be able to investigate thru November.
